Gloria is geographically well-located having Tablas Strait on one side and the mountains of Occidental Mindoro on the other. The municipality is just three hours away from Puerto Galera. Coupled with its relatively untouched and pristine environment, Gloria makes an attractive tourist destination. The municipality is part of the Strong Republic Nautical Highway, which plays a significant role in promoting private sector in the Road-RORO Terminal System as embodied in the Executive Order (EO) 170 of the President issued in 2003. It enhanced the regional trade, tourism, agriculture and micro-enterprise development, especially at the upper and lower end of the circuit. Based on the Oriental Mindoro Investment Summit held in April 2006, Gloria is proposed to belong in the Tourism Circuit #3 composed of other municipalities located at the central and southern portion of the province, such as Pinamalayan, Bansud, Bongabong and Roxas.

Tourism activities are still limited due to the inadequacy of developed and established destinations or attractions, which mainly consist of man-made (inland resorts, farms, etc.), natural (waterfalls, beaches, fish sanctuary, etc.) and festival-type of tourism assets. Basically, Gloria keeps its own pace of development since there are increasing number of accommodation and food establishments, improving access roads to existing and potential tourism sites and enhancing its agricultural and fishery production to meet the growing demands of its populace, including local and foreign tourists.
